IssueCustomer reported they see blocking session in their MS SQL database causing performance impact with high response time on RSA Adaptive Authentication (on Premise).
Cause

READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT setting was not enabled.

ResolutionThe READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT feature should be enabled to avoid the SELECT statements to take lock on the resources.This feature will have to be enabled for each database CORE, Back Office and Case Management in AAOP. This is only applicable when clients use the SQL Server as the database.

In order to enable this feature in SQL Server, please shutdown the application server to bring down all the connections to database and execute the below statement.

ALTER DATABASE MyDatabase SET READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT ON;

Once this setting was enabled, response time improved and no more blocking sessions observed in the database.
