IssueAfter installing a new instance of the Aveksa Remote Agent the remote agent fails to complete any collections.

The aveksaAgent.log file (/home/oracle/AveksaAgent/logs/aveksaAgent.log) shows the following exception:

5.099 ERROR (ApplyChangesRegularThread-3) [com.aveksa.server.agent.message.ExceptionMessage] com.aveksa.common.ConfigException: Please ensure that all required classes are there in following urls: 02/18/2019 10:48:4

Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.aveksa.collector.userdata.DBGenericReader

This is followed by:
02/18/2019 10:48:45.563 ERROR (ApplyChangesRegularThread-3) [com.aveksa.client.datacollector.framework.DataCollectorManager] FAILED method=Collect CollectionMetaInfo[{ID=1, run_id=794, collector_id=23, test-run=false, collector_name=IDC}] com.aveksa.common.ConfigException: java.lang.NullPointerException


This issue is due to an incompatibility in the Java version used to host the Aveksa Remote Agent.   This occurs if you are using Java 1.8 or greater.   This is a known issue in the following product versions.

  • RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle 7.1.0 
  • RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle 7.1.1 
ResolutionThis issue is resolved in .RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle 7.1.2.
WorkaroundUse Java 1.7 for the Aveksa Remote Agent.
