IssueThe license for the Advanced Workflow service included in RSA Archer 6.6.0.0 and 6.6.0.1 expires on 30 June 2019.

Once the license expires the following behaviors will occur:
  • Advanced Workflow will stop processing records.
  • Records cannot be created or updated. This includes all forms of record creation, such as data feeds and data import.

This issue does not impact RSA hosted environments.

The following error is seen when browsing to the Advanced Workflow Job Troubleshooting page:

Resolution

To resolve the issue, please follow the solution below that matches your scenario:

  • If you have downloaded the RSA Archer 6.6 or 6.6.0.1 installers but have not yet upgraded
  • Please disregard any install files you have already downloaded.  Login to RSA Link to download and install the new hot fix versions (that is, 6.6.0.0.1 and 6.6.0.1.1).
  • The only change for these releases is that the license file has been updated.

  • If you have already installed RSA Archer 6.6 or 6.6.0.1

You can manually update the license file as follows:

  1. Go to <Installation Path>\RSA Archer\Services\Workpoint\conf.
  2. Replace the existing license.xml with the one attached to this article.  This is a simple copy and replace.  Do not stop the advanced workflow service and do not delete the original license file.
  3. Select Replace the file in the destination.

In most cases this should be all that is needed to rectify the issue.

  • Unexpected behavior

If unexpected behavior occurs, try the following steps, in the order listed below:

  1. Restart the Advanced Workflow Service.
  2. Clear the cache:
    1. Stop the Advanced Workflow Service
    2. Delete the <Installation Path>\RSA Archer\Services\Workpoint\bin\cache folder.
    3. Start the Advanced Workflow Service

  • If the license is allowed to expire

If you have already installed RSA Archer 6.6 or 6.6.0.1, you can manually update the license as follows:

  4. Check in Advanced Workflow Job Troubleshooting for records that are in an Error state. Restart those jobs that are in an Error state.

  5. Rerun data feeds that faulted after the license expires.

In most cases this should be all that is needed.

  • Unexpected behavior

If unexpected behavior occurs then try the following, in order:

  1. Restart the Advanced Workflow Service.
  2. Clear the cache:
    1. Stop the Advanced Workflow Service.
    2. Delete the <Installation Path>\RSA Archer\Services\Workpoint\bin\cache folder.
    3. Start the Advanced Workflow Service.
