IssueAfter upgrading the Admin server to, the reports are failing with the following error in /var/netwitness/re-server/rsa/soc/reporting-engine/logs/reporting-engine.log.

2019-11-30 11:10:30,171 [EXEC_LIVECHART_251_20191116143023/[24x7][IPS] Events-1564473329127] ERROR com.rsa.soc.datasource.nextgen.nw.service.impl.NwCoreRequestHandler - Error occurred while fetching schema from data source 'Broker[]'.
java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException: com.rsa.netwitness.carlos.transport.TransportException: std::bad_alloc

'std::bad_alloc' is also noticed in /var/log/messages.

Nov 30 11:11:05 BROKER NwBroker[15813]: [Index] [failure] Unexpected Language Exception of type St9bad_alloc: std::bad_alloc

CauseThe issue is caused by a race condition in the Broker Progress handler which triggered memory corruption in Broker and caused bad_alloc or service crash.

ResolutionThe fix for this issue is added to NetWitness and later.
Please upgrade to or later to resolve the problem.
WorkaroundThere is no supported workaround.
