IssueField names are not shown correctly after translation for special characters that are not present in the English language (like ñ, ó, é, ö, í, â, so forth). The translated special characters may look like a square or black diamond with a question mark.

Field name not shown correctly
CauseThe translation file "FieldDefinition_Language.csv" has corrupted characters in the "Translation Value" column even though the file encoding format is UTF-8.



This mistakenly happens during file encoding because the file has values input by 2 different keyboards of different languages.
Resolution
  • Translation values with corrupted characters have to be replaced by correct ones in the translation files.
  • Translation files have to be UTF-8 encoded as per Archer online help recommendation.
  • Confirm that all translation files do not contain corrupt data before importing them to Archer.
