IssueSometimes when reinstalling/upgrading RSA Archer platform, some services are not properly removed and the service fails to start. Whenever the service tries to start, an error occurs stating: The specified service has been marked for deletion.

FIXED] The Specified Service has been Marked for Deletion Error
CauseA possible cause is that the Operating System is having a lock on a file/DLL which prevents the installer from replacing those files.
ResolutionWorkaround 1:
Reboot the server and confirm that the service/s was removed. Re-run the installer.

Workaround 2:
In case the reboot did not completely remove the service/s,
  1. Start the Registry Editor (regedit.exe).
  2. Move to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services key.
  3. Select the key of the service you want to delete.
  4. From the Edit menu, select Delete.
  5. You will be prompted "Are you sure you want to delete this Key" click Yes.
  6. Exit the Registry Editor.
  7. Reboot the server.
