Issue | Following the steps to add a new DAC fails when trying to run the raidNew command. Reference: Storage Guide for NetWitness Platform Version 11.x The raidNew command returns the error, "Invalid arguments, Unsupported Write policy". ![]() |
Cause | Some RAID Controllers are not able to accept the "Write back" (wb) setting in the raidNew command-line string. For example, the raidNew command-line string in the above screenshot error is:

Resolution | Login to the NetWitness appliance with the new DAC to configure and manually run the raidNew command without the "Write back" (wb) setting. Obtain the raidNew command from your error output and remove the "wb" text, then run that command on the NetWitness appliance. For the above example, the modified command and output appear like:
