RSA, The Security Division of EMC, announces the End of Life (EOL) for the following Adaptive Authentication (Hosted) features: Beacon, Web Redirect, API version 5.7 and API version 5.8.

In the next major release, Adaptive Authentication (Hosted) version 12.0, which is targeted for Q4 of 2014, the following features will no longer be supported:

  • Beacon feature
  • Web Redirect feature
  • API version 5.7
  • API version 5.8

Customers who use the Beacon feature are advised to use rsa.js to collect the device fingerprint, and send it along with the cookie and the Flash Shared Object (FSO) directly to Adaptive Authentication (Hosted) using the SOAP API.

Customers who use the Web Redirect feature are advised to implement their own web pages to manage the collection and challenge flows, and to send SOAP API calls directly to Adaptive Authentication (Hosted).

Customers who use Adaptive Authentication (Hosted) API version 5.7 and/or API version 5.8, are advised to upgrade to Adaptive Authentication (Hosted) API version 6.5.
