Technical Details ExplanationIf you are running in a software only environment, ensure the application server is configured to not communicate using SSLv3.
For appliance customers, RSA has provided a shell script called ‘fixPoodleBite.sh’ that can be downloaded and run to patch the configuration of the application server.  To use the script:
  1. Download fixPoodleBite.sh from downloadCentral
  2. Login to the appliance as oracle and put fixPoodleBite.sh in the directory /home/oracle
  3. Ensure the script has execute permissions (chmod +x fixPoodleBite.sh) and run the script
  4. Restart RSA IMG using the command ‘acm restart’
This script modifies the file server.xml using the following steps.
  1. Search for the text ‘sslProtocol=’
  2. Replace the text "sslProtocol="TLS" with "sslProtocols="SSLv2Hello,TLSv1,TLSv1.1,TLSv1.2"
  3. Replace the text: ‘ciphers="TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA,TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA,SSL_RSA_WITH_3DES_EDE_CBC_SHA "’  with: ‘ciphers="TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA,TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA"’
  4. Save the file
