IssueWhile upgrading from Security Analytics 10.3.x to Security Analytics 10.4.x, the reporting engine may lose its connection to the Hive server located on the Pivotal cluster. 
When you test the connection in the Reporting Engine against the warehouse, an error message similar to the example below is observed:

Connection Failed:Failure connecting to Hive Server:cloud not establish connection to jdbc:hive2://<ip_address>:10000/default Required field 'client_protocol' is unset: Struct:TOpenSessionReq(client_protocol:null)

CauseThis issue occurs because the Hive Server was not upgraded from hive0.11 to hive0.12 and Pivotal 1.0 to Pivotal 2.0 or 2.1.
ResolutionTo resolve the issue, upgrade Pivotal from 1.0 to Pivotal 2.0. or Pivotal 2.1. If you need assistance with upgrading Pivotal, please contact Pivotal support.
