IssueHow to restore a backup from on environment to another

On the environment you are restoring from:

  1. From the ACP (Archer Control Panel) Discontinue processing new jobs and make sure no more jobs are running
  2. Make a database (DB) backup of the appropriate instance DB
  3. Copy the relevant company_files folder (typical found in: ?C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Archer\company_files? please note there is a folder for each company may differ from instance to instance, so your current company may be 50003 but your new company may be 50000 so you will need to change the name when you copy it back)
  4. Copy the relevant FileRepository folder (typical found in: ?C:\Archer\FileRepository? please note there is a folder for each company and may differ from instance to instance so your current company may be RSA but your new company is EMC so you will need to change the name when you copy it back)
  5. Start processing jobs again if this server is to continue being used

On the environment you are restoring to:

  1. Restore the DB to the instance DB in the new environment
  2. Complete the archer installer as per the install guild (do NOT create an Instance on the ACP**)
  3. Create your instance on the APC pointing to the DB instance you just restored.
  4. Copy (and rename were appropriate) the company_files and FileRepository files over
  5. Restart the Archer services and the IIS server
  6. Full Index rebuild
  7. If you were previously using SSO or SSL these will need to be reconfigured

** If you have to restore the database to an existing already configured Instance and this is a different version of archer you will need to rerun the installer after step 2
