TasksThe attached document augments the official instructions for installing a fiber network card in a Series 5 Decoder with pictures of the hardware at different steps in the procedure to add clarity.
Also, the official process does not address that the ports on the fiber card come up with different names than the copper card so that the decoder cannot access the network. This document adds a workaround for that issue.
NotesFor help on adjusting the network interface names so they are consistent with other appliances that have not required a daughter card swap out (using em1 - 4 instead of eth0 - 3), refer to the article entitled How to update udev rules after installing a 10G Fiber Daughter Card in RSA NetWitness Logs and Packets Series 5 appliances.
