IssueWhen you try to search for a record using a string with a special character (e.g. MAC address with colons or data enclosed in brackets) the system returns no results.
Indexes are current and searching for the term with quotes returns the correct results.
ResolutionThe special characters need to be escaped as explained in this article: https://lucene.apache.org/core/2_9_4/queryparsersyntax.html
A full list of special characters that need to be escaped are as follows:
+ - && || ! ( ) { } [ ] ^ " ~ * ? : \

A search for a MAC address should be searched for in one of the two following ways:
"XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX"

OR

XX\:XX\:XX\:XX\:XX\:XX

Information in brackets should be searched in this way:
"[This is text]"

OR

\[This is text\]
