IssueThe upgrade process to RSA DLP 9.6 is a fresh installation of network device software. During the upgrade process, all the data on the existing appliance is deleted and the new version is installed. It is therefore important that you create a backup of the existing data before upgrading your DLP Network to RSA DLP 9.6
ResolutionThe backup and restore of the existing configuration is carried out using DLPMigrationTool.
To create Backup Using DLPMigrationTool
1. Log in as a root user.
2. Change directory to /home/tablus

[root@nw-interceptor]# cd /home/tablus

3. On the command shell, enter:
[root@nw-interceptor]# DLPMigrationTool.py --backup --store backup_path

To restore the data using DLPMigrationTool:
1. Copy the backup file to the upgraded network device and restore the configuration. At the command shell, enter:

[root@nw-interceptor tablus]# dlpmigrationtool.py --restore myhost.mydomain_9.6.1000.151_backup.tar --store
