Issue

The RSA Access Manager 5.0 SP2 Agent for IIS installs either a 32 bit version or a 64 bit version of the agent automatically based on the type of application pool that is running in the IIS web servers default web site. It is not possible to run both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of the agent at the same time.  If you wish to protect both 32 bit and 64 bit applications with the RSA Access Manger Agent we recommend you install separate IIS web servers.   If you only have 32 bit mode enabled only on some of your application pools the automated installer may detect and install the incorrect version of the agent.

Tasks

You can determine which version of the agent is running by looking in the agent log file for the following line:
2013-04-22 16:05:49 -0700 - [2032] - <Config> - RSA Access Manager Agent (32 bit) for Microsoft IIS Web Server
OR
2013-04-22 16:05:49 -0700 - [2032] - <Config> - RSA Access Manager Agent (64 bit) for Microsoft IIS Web Server

The agent installer uses the following test to determine what version of the agent to install.  To confirm the agent is detecting the correct version of the agent to install you can run this script manually and observe the result:
C:\Windows\system32\inetsrv\appcmd list config | find "DefaultAppPool" | find "enable32BitAppOnWin64=""true"""
The following result means the 32 bit agent will be installed.
<add name="DefaultAppPool" autoStart="true" enable32BitAppOnWin64="true">

ResolutionTo ensure the agent installer installs the correct version of the agent, ensure that the Default Application Pool is configured for either 64 bit or 32 bit as required.   Uninstall the agent and change the settings on the Default Application Pool and re-install the agent if required.
