The software-only install on the SuSE operating system does not modify firewall for the default Aveksa ports nor does it enable port redirection

1. To open firewall ports:

To open ports in the firewall,

a. Edit /etc/sysconfig/SuSEfirewall2

b. Add the ports that you want open to FW_SERVICES_EXT_TCP setting. For example:

   FW_SERVICES_EXT_TCP="22 80 443"

    FW_SERVICES_EXT_TCP="22 8080 8443"
2. To enable redirection:

To redirect port 80 to 8080 or 443 to 8443, use the attached "http" file (for port 80) and /or https file (for port 443) into directory /etc/xinetd.d.

xinetd is not enabled by default so you must run the following command:

   chkconfig xinetd on service xinetd start
