IssueThere errors are sometimes seen in the Oracle Instance log file, found at

/u01/app/oracle/product/admin/AVDB/bdump/alert_AVDB.log.

ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1

ORA-12663: Services required by client not available on the server

ORA-36961: Oracle OLAP is not available.

ORA-06512: at "SYS.OLAPIHISTORYRETENTION", line 1

ORA-06512: at line 15

Why are they there?

Is it a problem for the ACM installation?

Is there a way to stop them from occuring?
ResolutionThese messages are typically a result of an OLTP database being created and then not having OLAP enabled within the Oracle Instance. These errors are seen at both startup and shutdown as a result of OLAP triggers running. They are warning messages only, and do not impact the ACM application.
ACM does not need or use OLAP and thus does not need to have these triggers enabled.
To confirm that these triggers are enabled, run the following SQL logged into the database as SYSDBA, after logging into the ACM applicance as the oracle user:

$ sqlplus "/as sysdba"
SQL> SELECT TRIGGER_NAME, STATUS FROM DBA_TRIGGERS WHERE TRIGGER_NAME like '%OLAP%';

Output similar to this should be displayed:
TRIGGER_NAME STATUS

--------------------- --------

OLAPISTARTUPTRIGGER ENABLED

OLAPISHUTDOWNTRIGGER ENABLED

To disable these triggers, execute the following SQL:
SQL> ALTER TRIGGER OLAPISHUTDOWNTRIGGER DISABLE;
SQL> ALTER TRIGGER OLAPISTARTUPTRIGGER DISABLE;

Confirm that the triggers have been disabled, by re-executing the following. The trigger status should now be 'disabled'.

SQL> SELECT TRIGGER_NAME, STATUS FROM DBA_TRIGGERS WHERE TRIGGER_NAME like '%OLAP%';
TRIGGER_NAME STATUS

---------------------- --------

OLAPISTARTUPTRIGGER DISABLED

OLAPISHUTDOWNTRIGGER DISABLED

The ORA messages shown above, should now no longer appear in the alert log file.
