IssueFix the overlapping text of the Dashboard name and the Dashboard dropdown while running IE in Compatibility View
When viewing a Workspace in IE with Compatibility View enabled in version 5.4 SP1 or later, you will note that the "Dashboard:" text and the Dashboard Name overlap.

ResolutionThe issue is caused by the removal of the <meta> tag from the header. This was initially put in place to handle compatibility issues with IE9, however those have been addressed and thus there is no need to continue leveraging the tag. However, company policy may dictate the use of Compatibility View within the browser, which is not inherently supported. With that in mind, there is a way to enforce the use of IE 8 mode (the setting enforced by the <meta> tag previously) to revert to the previous setting for the Archer site. Here are the steps to enforce that through IIS:
  1. Log on to the Archer Web server
  2. Click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
  3. In the Connections pane, expand the node for the server, and then expand.
  4. Click the Web site where you want to add the custom HTTP response header.
  5. In the Web site pane, double-click on the HTTP Response Headers icon.
  6. Under Actions, click Add.
  7. In the Name box, type X-UA-Compatible.
  8. In the Value box, type IE=EmulateIE10.
  9. Click OK.
