IssueHow do I regenerate the token seed when issuing Software Tokens in Authentication Manager 5.2 and 6.1?
Resolution

IMPORTANT: Use caution when issuing software tokens.. When selecting the range of tokens to distribute, be sure that it only contains the tokens you want to distribute. If tokens are redistributed with regenerated seeds, the previously installed tokens will no longer be valid. ANY TOKENS AFFECTED BY THIS JOB WILL NEED TO BE PROVISIONED. Should you accidentally distribute a large number of tokens, you must either provision them with the users OR restore from backup.

To issue a software token with a regenerated seed:

Open a Host Mode window and go to Token->Issue Software Tokens. Configure the token you are issuing as desired. RSA recommends you use password protection (enabled by default) and bind the token to a device. To issue the software tokens with new seeds leave the Retain Token Information box unchecked (it is not checked by default). On the Verify RSA SecurID Software Token Issuing List page review the list of users whose tokens you are issuing to be sure it is accurate. Once issued, the tokens will have a new seed. The only way to recover the previous seed would be to restore from backup.
