IssueAttaching a demoted instance fails on RSA Authentication Manager 7.1 SP4
This has been observed with servers running patch 12 and greater on 7.1 SP4 servers
Network Status: unreachable


Regardless of the patch level, customer cannot attach a demoted instance.


Error on Operations Console:


There was a problem processing your request.


Unable to connect to the new primary instance's operation console specified by the hostname <primary>.<my_domain>.com. Please make sure there is an Authentication Manager instance installed on the machine specified by the hostname, the operation console is started on the new primary instance, and the new primary instance belongs to the same replication system as this instance.



ResolutionWorkaround: Copy the systemfields.properties file from new Primary RSA Authentication Manager/utils/etc directory to demoted instance.  Stop RSA services on demoted instance and copy the file into RSA Authentication Manager/utils/etc folder. Start RSA services. You will be able to attach the demoted instance.

This issue has been reported in defect AM-24044 and resolved in patch 18 for 7.1.SP4. Download most recent patch from SecurCareOnline for RSA Authentication Manager 7.1 SP4.
