IssueYum is not updating in RSA Securty Analytics although updates are available.
CauseThis frequently happens because Yum has cached some variables and is unable to see the new ones.
Resolution

To resolve the issue, follow the steps below.

  1. Set the HTTP caching setting in the yum configuration file.

    1.
Edit the yum configuration file by issuing the following command:  vi /etc/yum.conf

    2.
Add the following line to the file and save the changes:  http_caching=none

  2. Disable the FastestMirror plugin.

    1.
Edit the FastestMirror configuration file by issuing the following command:  vi /etc/yum/pluginconf.d/fastestmirror.conf

    2.
Ensure that enabled=0 and make the change as necessary.  Save the file when finished.

  3. Clear the local yum cache with the following command: yum clean all

  4. Check for yum updates with the following command, which should return a lit of packages available from the Security Analytics server update repository:  yum check-update

  5. Perform the updates by issuing the following command:  yum update

After following the steps above, the packages should install successfully.
