IssueWhen accessing the RSA Authentication Manager 7.1 Security Console from a remote machine, the browser displays the following error:

The page cannot be displayed

  • This can happen when:using the IP address of the Authentication Manager server in the URL.
  • This can happen when:using the hostname of the Authentication Manager server in the URL.
  • Operations Console and the Self-service console work
CauseThis error is caused by issues with name resolution. The remote machine cannot resolve the IP address or host name of the Authentication Manager server.
ResolutionTo fix this issue, the remote machine must be able to resolve the Authentication Manager 7.1 server.  A quick fix will be to edit the system32\drivers\etc\hosts file and add the IP address, the fully qualified domain name and the short name of the Authentication Manager server.

When access the Security Console, you must use the FQDN of the Authentication Manager server in the URL, such as  https://machine.domain.com:7004/console-ims.  Trying to access the Security Console with the IP address (e. g., https://86.75.30.9:7004/console-ims) will not work.

WorkaroundDNS has failed forward and reverse name resolution of the FQHN/IP address.
