Applies ToAuthentication Manager 7.1
Appliance 3.0
RSA Radius
IssueAll authentications failing, both native securID or RADIUS. Authentication Real-time activity monitor does not show any authentication activity.

The RSA RADIUS log file shows the following error:

10/12/2011 11:59:48 Failed to initialize communications for SecurID authentication (result = 23)
10/12/2011 11:59:48 Unable to find user joe with matching password
10/12/2011 11:59:48 Sent reject response

CauseThis can be caused by the following reasons:
- The Authentication Manager 7.1  license has been violated
- Port 5500/UDP is not listening on the Authentication Manager 7.1 server.
ResolutionTo resolve the issue, the following has to be corrected:
- The license violation has to be corrected
- Make sure port 5500/UDP is listening.
If there are no license violations, a restart of the Authentication Manager service might resolve the issue. In either case, contact customer support to identify the root cause of the issue.
