Unable to shutdown the RSA SecurID Appliance through the Security Console

Resolution

Log onto the RSA SecurID Appliance 3.0 via ssh or the console using the userid 'emcsrv' and associated password.

Run the command 'sudo su - root' to become the system owner. Use the same password for the 'emcsrv' userid.

Run the command '/etc/init.d/rsaauthmgr stop all'

The system will take 10 - 15 minutes to complete above command.

Type the command 'reboot'.

The restart of the system will take approximately 10 - 15 minutes and be available for authentication services. (note: if it has been more than 6 months since the last fsck file system check, this will be triggered on reboot which will take additional time)

WorkaroundThis will enable you to successfully shutdown the RSA Authentication Manager services safely and Power Reset the system

NotesIMPORTANT NOTE : if you are using Appliance AM7.1 SP4 unpatched,  or appliance 3.0.4.9 or 3.0.4.10 ,  do NOT use this procedure, See A43668 for additional details
