IssuePrevent unnecessary log file buildup on Authentication Manager Web Tiers
Large number of unnecessary 0 byte wlst_<datestamp>.log and wlst_<datestamp>.out files accumulating in Web Tier directory appserver/logs
/opt/RSASecurity/RSAauthenticationManagerWebtier/appserver/logs/wlst_*

CauseThis is a known side-affect of uising the WebLogic Server Scripting Tool (WLST).
Resolution

Prior to there being a fix, the file creation can be prevented by editing the WT_HOME/webtierBootstrapper/8.0<Pn>/config/src/scripts/Utils.groovy script as follows:

  • make a backup copy of the Utils.groovy script
  • Edit the script to add "-Dwlst.offline.log=disable" to the runWlstScriptOnline function:
 ...

 def runWlstScriptOnline(String script, additionalEnvironment = [:]) {

 def jvmargs = [     "-Dweblogic.security.SSL.ignoreHostnameVerification=true",

 "-Dweblogic.security.CustomTrustKeyStoreType=JKS",

 "-Dweblogic.security.TrustKeyStore=CustomTrust",

 "-Dweblogic.security.CustomTrustKeyStoreFileName=$installHome/server/security/trust.jks"

 "-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true",

 "-Dwlst.offline.log=disable"

 ]

 runWlstScript(script, additionalEnvironment, jvmargs)

 ...

  • Restart the Bootstrapper service.

Note that any existing wlst* files should be manually deleted from WT_HOME/appserver/logs.
A fix for this issue was included in AM 8.1 P2.

NotesReference defect AM-27918.
