IssueImporting the software token onto an iPhone

The end user (or Administrator) needs to download the Software Token Converter from URL http://www.rsa.com/node.aspx?id=3651.

Unzip the zip attachment from the email (on a Windows system) to get the sdtid file (format: <username_serialnumber>.sdtidi) and place the <username_serialnumber>.sdtid file into the folder where the Software Token Convertor has been installed/extracted.

From a Windows command prompt enter ?tokenconverter.exe <username_serialnumber>.sdtid -iphone -o output.txt?

Open the output.txt file and add < > around the string displayed and then cut and paste the string into an email (going to the iPhone) and make it a hyperlink.

An example of the string is: <com.rsa.securid.iphone://ctf?ctfData=200004363788612225561337443334357552145111014321703520104172117060544046671654366>

NOTE: It is important that this string inside the < > needs to be a hyperlink, and the contents of the underlying hyperlink must be a copy of the full string.

The iPhone must have the RSA SecurID Token for iPhone Devices installed (available free of charge through the Apple App Store) before the end user selects the hyperlink to import the software token seed.

WorkaroundFor RSA Authentication Manager 7.1: An end user has made a request from the Self-Service Console for an iPhone software token. Upon approval of the request, the end user receives an email with a zip file attachment.
NotesIf sending by Microsoft Outlook, make sure Outlook is NOT using Microsoft Word as the editor, it has been seen to alter the link.
