IssueThe scheduled backup does not complete and the console will not allow a new backup to be scheduled as the last one is still in progress.
Under System menu on the Backup tab, the scheduled backup job listed under Backup Status shows as In Progress.
From the command line, running a ps will show that a job is still in progress for the backup.

CauseThe scheduled backup may fail if the database is in use at the time the back up is scheduled.
WorkaroundA shutdown and restart of acm and the database should be scheduled after hours to avoid impacting users.
In order to stop the failed backup, first the Via Lifecycle and Governance server should be shutdown. Then the database should also be shut down and restarted before server can be restarted. Use the following commands:
$> acm stop
$> acm stopdb
$> acm startdb
$> acm start

In order to clear the In Progress status in the console, a good backup should be completed from the command line.
Once a good backup has been done the "in progress" status will be reset.  Use the following syntax to take the backup:
AVDB_Export_AVUSER.sh -t <date in YYYY-MM-DD format>

If backups do not complete, we recommend that acm be stopped during the backup.  For example, the following commands stop the acm, stops and starts the database, does a backup and then starts acm:
$> acm stop
$> acm stopdb
$> acm startdb
$> AVDB_Export_AVUSER.sh -t 2016-02-06
$> acm start
