IssueInstalled a new Endpoint coordinator.
The services are running in new EPC but it is not showing live in the console. The status shows "Pending connection to EPC"
CauseEPC cannot resolve the rEPC name to get the certificate
2016-01-14 20:45:50,109 [JoinServiceThread - 8] ERROR EndpointCoordinator.Security.JoinServiceTask - Failed to get the certificate from root epc.
2016-01-14 20:46:15,109 [JoinServiceThread - 8] ERROR EndpointCoordinator.Security.JoinServiceTask - Failed to get the certificate from root epc.
2016-01-14 20:46:40,109 [JoinServiceThread - 8] ERROR EndpointCoordinator.Security.JoinServiceTask - JoinserviceTask failed with exception.
System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (0x80004005): No such host is known

 
Resolution1.  Open the hosts file located in the directory below.
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

2.  Add an entry for the rEPC hostname
 
example 
# 127.0.0.1       localhost
# ::1             localhost
10.10.10.10 repc.example.com

3.  Save the file
The above method is used if there is no way the EM can resolve the FQDN of the Root EPC.
Make a note so that if the IP address gets changed, you will need to update the host file
