IssueWhen performing data import to a subform, if the first column of the subform data is blank in any row, that row will not be imported. Thus, some rows are not imported.

Steps to reproduce the problem
Create a CSV file for importing records into a subform, as follows:

  • Column A is a unique field named "Parent Record" from the parent application used to identify the parent application record.
  • Column B is a field "Number" from the subform
  • Column C is field "Values List" from the subform

Create two rows of data as below:

Parent Record,Number,Values List
Record1,1,Red
Record1,,Red

The first subform record above will be imported but the second will not.

CauseIf the first column of subform data in the import file is blank in any row, that row will not be imported.
Resolution

Solution

If you switch the order of the colums so that the import file is:

Parent Record,Values List,Number
Record1,Red,1
Record1,Red

Then both subform records will be imported.
