IssueThe following error appears in the Websphere error log:
[11/6/15 16:03:55:752 EST] 00000048 SystemErr R log4j:WARN No such property [datePattern] in org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender.
[11/6/15 16:05:01:388 EST] 00000048 SystemErr R [FATAL] log4j logging configuration file is missing. Logging may cause faults.
[11/6/15 16:05:31:674 EST] 00000048 SystemErr R log4j:ERROR Could not find value for key log4j.appender.alarm
[11/6/15 16:05:31:675 EST] 00000048 SystemErr R log4j:ERROR Could not instantiate appender named "alarm".
CauseThe log4j RollingFileAppender does not use a date in the file names. DatePattern is therefore an invalid property.
ResolutionIn your <application server root>/webapps/AdaptiveAuthentication/WEB-INF/classes/log4j.properties file. Look for all your appenders using the "org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender" class and check if it has a "DatePattern" property set as would normally be done with the org.apache.log4j.DailyRollingFileAppender class. Remove or comment out the line setting the "DatePattern" property, since it is not used for that appender.

#log4j.appender.soapcalls.DatePattern = '.'yyyy-MM-dd
