IssueWhen attempting to authenticate with the the RSA Authentication Agent 7.x for Microsoft Windows the end user has to key in their user ID each time.
CauseThis behavior is caused by Microsoft Windows configuration. It can be changed in the registry to either keep or remove the last user ID that was logged in to the machine.
ResolutionTo have the user ID be persistent, follow the steps below:
  1. On the desktop running the RSA Authentication Agent 7.x for Microsoft Windows press Start > Run.
  2. Type regedit.exe and press Enter.
  3. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft \Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies \System.
  4. Ensure that the value of DontDisplayLastUserName is set to 0.
  5. Open a command prompt on the machine.
  6. In the command window type gpupdate /force and press Enter.
  7. Log off from the desktop and try to login again.
