RSA Product/Service Type: Authentication Manager
RSA Version/Condition: 8.1
IssueWant to use Case Sensitive Alphabetic or Alphanumberic PINs for FOB-style SecurID Token authentications to the Security Console, Self Service Console and for Authentication Agents.
AM 8.1 Admin Guide available on SCOL, updated Feb 5th 2015 still says
"Important: If the Security Console is protected with RSA SecurID, the SecurID PIN
is case sensitive." p. 34
But this does not work.  I assigned Soft Token to a Help Desk Admin in AM 8.1 P5, distributed as Fob Style 6-digit, logged into Security Console and created PIN of Ab1234, logged out then logged in 2nd time with PIN as Ab1234, logged out again then logged in 3rd time with PIN as ab1234, conclusion Alphanumeric PINs are not
case sensitive even on the Security Console
CauseAgent, SSC and SC logins do not consistently use the agent API LoginCommand which supports Case Sensitive PINs
ResolutionDoes not work, no current resolution only an RFE.
Jira bug AM-22800 says this was a bug that was addressed with AM 7.1
AM-28081 and AM-26861 state this does not work and therefore this is a documentation bug
AM-28471 is the Request for Enhancement, RFE which customers who want this functionality should link their case to and then they should contact their Sales representatives to drive this
