IssueUnable to transfer RSA SecurID Software Token to RSA SecurID Smart Card 5100
CauseRSA SecurID Passage documentation states that the PKCS#11 module is used only with Netscape Navigator; this is left over from an older release. In RSA SecurID Passage 3.3 and 3.4, the PKCS#11 module is always used by RSA SecurID Software Token to talk to RSA SecurID Smart Card 5100, regardless of which web browser is used on the PC. This is fixed in version 3.4 documentation.
ResolutionTo use RSA SecurID Software Token with SecurID Passage, install Software Token 3.0.1 from the Passage 3.x CD-ROM; this version of Software Token has been enhanced to be compatible with Passage. A supported version of either Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator must be installed on your system.

To set up RSA SecurID Software Token, follow these steps:

1. From the Software_Token folder on the RSA SecurID Passage CD, run setup.exe

2. After Software Token has been installed, click Start Menu > RSA SecurID Software Token > Administration Tool

3. Click Smart Card Access Options

4. Under Smart Card Access, click Access the smart card through a PKCS #11 module

5. Browse to the appropriate folder listed below:

- For Windows XP: WINDOWS\system32

- For Windows NT and Windows 2000: Winnt\system32

- For Windows 98: WINDOWS\SYSTEM

6. Select 3GP11EN.dll

To transfer a Software Token to the Smart Card, follow these steps:

1. Insert the smart card into the card reader

2. Start the Software Token application

3. On the menubar, click File > Select Token
