IssueUsers in other roles cannot see scheduled reports in RSA Security Analytics 10.3.
Only the admin user can see the scheduled reports in the Reporting module.
The Reports page in the Reporting module displays the following message:  No Reports Exist For This Date.
The /var/lib/netwitness/uax/logs/sa.log file reports the following error message:  ERROR com.rsa.smc.sa.reporter.aspect.ReporterServiceLoggingAspect - Action is not authorized on resource
Cause

In RSA Security Analytics 10.3, a role not only has to be granted permission to access the Reporting module, but must be assigned access to the specific reports, schedules, etc. that they will be permitted to view.  This is by design, as it is often the case that two or more roles will have access to the Reporting module and it is not always requisite that they have access to the same scheduled reports.

In order to allow other roles to view a scheduled report, their respective role must be granted read/write or read-only access to the following components:

  • Report
  • Schedule(s) for the report
  • Any rules associated with the report
Resolution

In order to allow another role to view a scheduled report, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Security Analytics UI as the user who created the scheduled report.
  2. Navigate to Reporting -> Manage from the dropdown menu.
  3. Under Rule, check the rule that is included in the report.
  4. Click on the cog icon above the listed rules and select Permissions(See Figure 1)
  5. Locate the role you wish to grant access and click the appropriate radio button to provide Read & Write or Read Only access.  (See Figure 2)
  6. Click the Save button.
  7. Repeat steps 3-6 for any additional rules that are included in the report.
  8. Click on the Report button and check the appropriate report.
  9. Click on the cog icon above the listed reports and select Permissions(See Figure 3)
  10. Locate the role you wish to grant access and click the appropriate radio button to provide Read & Write or Read Only access.  (See Figure 4)
  11. Click the Save button.
  12. Click on the button labeled View All Schedules above the listed reports.  (See Figure 5)
  13. Locate the appropriate schedule, click on the right-arrow icon next to its name, and select Permissions(See Figure 6)
  14. Locate the role you wish to grant access and click the appropriate radio button to provide Read & Write or Read Only access.  (See Figure 7)
  15. Click the Save button.

After following the steps above, the user belonging to the other role will now be able to view scheduled reports that have been executed in RSA Security Analytics.

If you have any questions about these steps or are experiencing any issues, contact RSA Support for assistance.

WorkaroundA user has been assigned a role with permissions to access the Reporting module in RSA Security Analytics.
