RSA Product/Service Type:  Authentication Manager
RSA Version/Condition:  7.1 SP4
Issue
  • Cannot access the Security Console after upgrading to SP4.
  • Port 7004 is not listening.
  • On a Unix server or the RSA SecurID Appliance running netstat -an | grep 7004  returns nothing.
  • On Windows running netstat -an | find "7004" returns nothing.
CauseThe <RSA_HOME>/server/config/config.xml is missing a network-access-point block, which prevents 7004 from listening.
ResolutionIn this article <RSA_HOME> refers the default install location for Authentication Manager.  On Windows, that is C:\Program Files\RSA Security\RSA Authentication Manager.  For Unix, the directory is /usr/local/RSASecurity/RSAAuthenticationManager.
  1. Edit the <RSA_HOME>/server/config/config.xml file.
  2. Look for the TwoWaySSLChannel section, ending with </network-access-point>.
  3. Below </network-access-point>, add the lines below if they do not exist:
<network-access-point>
      <name>WebConsoleSSLChannel</name>
      <protocol>https</protocol>
      <listen-port>7004</listen-port>
      <http-enabled-for-this-protocol>false</http-enabled-for-this-protocol>
</network-access-point>

  1. The above lines should exist. Compare the config.xml file with a file from working 7.1 SP4 server.
  2. Restart RSA services. Launch Security Console.
