IssueASP.NET Tab Doesn't Show In IIS 6 For Windows 2003 Server 64-bit

Depending on the IIS configuration, you may find that the ASP.NET tab does not show in the properties section of your virtual directory within IIS 6.  Note:  this appears to only occur on 64-bit installs.

Resolution

Run the following sequence of command line scripts:

"cscript %SYSTEMDRIVE%\inetpub\adminscripts\adsutil.vbs SET W3SVC/AppPools/Enable32bitAppOnWin64 0" - disables 32bit mode on the site

"C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis -i" -registers v2 .NET

"C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\aspnet_regiis -iru" -registers v4 .NET

Re-open IIS and open up the properties for the site or virtual directory.  You should now see the ASP.NET tab, allowing you to select the appropriate .NET version if necessary.
