Enable SSH
IssueEnable SSH via the command line
Resolution

To enable SSH on the Appliance 3.0 via the command line you need to logon to the appliance console using a directly connected monitor and a  USB keyboard:

   Appliance login name:  emcsrv

    Appliance default Password:  dangerous   (if this was changed during the quick setup, make sure you use the new password)

    Once logged in:

    >sudo su

     Default Password:  dangerous    (if this was changed during the quick setup, make sure you use the new password)

  ***NOTE***: In the following command "service" is not a directory, it is the command

   a) /sbin/service sshd start        // you should see: Starting sshd  [  OK  ]

or

   b) /etc/init.d/sshd start

 

To make the sshd daemon start on system startup:
/sbin/chkconfig --level 2345 sshd on

Notes

 

To check if the sshd service is running on the appliance, type the command below:

 netstat -atup | grep sshd
