Appliance Service Shows Single Disk and in Bad State on Series 3 NWA-200 Brokers
IssueAppliance service shows single disk and in bad state on Series 3 NWA-200 RSA NetWitness brokers.
The appliance service on series 3 NWA-200 brokers shows a single disk and in a bad state.
CauseSeries 3 NWA-200 Brokers utilize a different RAID controller than other appliances, namely an LSI MegaRAID SAS 9260-4i.  The appliance service does not know how to enumerate the 3 drives + hotspare in the RAID5 array, and thus displays a single block device in a bad or unknown state, which represents the RAID virtual drive.  This does not necessarily mean that there is a problem with any disk.
ResolutionThis is a known issue with the appliance service, and has been fixed in 9.8.5.1.

If in doubt of your appliance's disk state, please contact RSA Support to confirm the state of the disks.
