IssueRSA Appliance backup encountered an error
Backup gives misleading error "The appliance backup encountered an error."

Example:
Log on to the Operations Console as a Super Admin.
Click Maintenance > Backups > Create Backup.
Click Backup.
Verify that the backup was created. Click Maintenance > Backups > Restore from Backup, and verify that the backup is listed on the page.
Backup starts like this:
Each task is displayed on this screen as it is processed. Once the main task is completed the done button is displayed. The appliance is being backed up...

Starting the RADIUS services...

ResolutionThis has been reported as defect AM-13981. The error at the end of the output is misleading and can be ignored. This has been resolved in 7.1 SP2. If you run the backup second time, the error will not appear.
