IssueRSA Authentication Agent 7.0 for Web for Internet Information Services appears to install but no RSA SecurID icon appears under the properties of the web site
Performing a repair on 'RSA Authentication Agent for Web for IIS' shows an error 'Fatal error during installation'
RSA Authentication Agent 7.0 for Web for Internet Information Services fails to uninstall 
CauseMicrosoft Windows 2008 Internet Information Services is missing the required IIS 6 Management Compatibility. Page 15 of the RSA Authentication Agent 7.0 for Web for IIS 7.0 Installation and Configuration Guide does provide the required roles of Internet Information Services 7.0 and IIS 6 Management Compatibility is shown (along with Common HTTP features and Application development).
Resolution

In order to repair the 'RSA Authentication Agent for Web for IIS' the IIS 6 Management Compatibility must be added to the Web Server (IIS).

 

 

Start > Administrative Tools > Server Manager

 - click Web Server (IIS) under Roles Summary

 - under Roles Services add the IIS 6 Management Compatibility

 

 

With IIS 6 Management Compatibility added to the Web Server (IIS) the administrator can repair RSA Authentication Agent for Web for IIS.

 

 

Start > Control Panel > (Programs) Uninstall a program > highlight RSA Authentication Agent for Wed for IIS > click Repair

 

 

The RSA SecurID icon will now appear under the properties of the web site.

 

As the RSA Authentication Agent 7.0 for Web for Internet Information Services software failed to install correctly the administrator will need to copy the configuration record (sdconf.rec) into the %systemroot%/System32 folder.

 

Perform test authentication using the ?sdtest.exe? found in the %systemroot%/System32 folder.
