IssueWhile using ClearTrust, administrator wants to retrieve a lost password.
ResolutionSince the password is hashed before being stored in the database, there is no way to retrieve the actual password.
See also: How to Reset Administrators password without using API or GUI.

A Cleartrust admin can only set the password to another value.  This can be done either through the Admin API (APIServerProxy.setPassword) or through the Entitlements Manager GUI.

Here is an example of this:

import sirrus.api.client.*;
import sirrus.util.net.*;

public class connectAdmin
{
 public static void main (String[] args)
 {
   String EServer = "legacy";
   int port = 5601;
   boolean useSSL = false;
   String userName = "drutstein";
   String newPassword = "p4ssw0rd";

   try {
   APIServerProxy myServerProxy = new APIServerProxy(EServer, port, useSSL);

   myServerProxy.connect("admin", "admin",
                                       "SecureControl Admin Group",
                                       "SecureControl Administrator");
   myServerProxy.setPassword (userName, newPassword);
 } catch (Exception e) {
   e.printStackTrace ();
 }
 }
}
