IssueAM 6.1 Remote mode error: "RSA Authentication Manager does not allow the use of this token type. Contact your administrator"

The error message: "The RSA Authentication Manager does not allow the use of this token type. Contact your administrator" when trying to log into "RSA Authentication Manager remote mode"

Cause

This typically happens when an administrative user has been set up to use both a token and a passwords, and can occur under the circumstance when passwords are *not* enabled for the admins.  This can be checked by performing the following task: System>System Config>Edit System Parameters.

When that situation occurs, when an administrator tries to login to Auth Mgr Remote Admin with a passcode, the system will throw the error:

The RSA Authentication Manager does not allow the use of this token type.

Contact your administrator.

ResolutionTo resolve this issue, either remove the password from the admin user, or configure to allow passwords to be used by administrators
