|Applies To||RSA Authentication Manager 6.1|
Microsoft Windows 2003
|Issue||multiple copies of sdcommd_session.exe running|
CPU utilization at 100%
sdcommd6.1: Session has been started as user: Unable to get key.
sdcommd6.1: Session has been started as user: Unable to get certificate from file.
This process is the RSA Auth Mgr Quick Admin Daemon, it uses the server.cer and server.key files as it starts up and if it cannot locate either of them then the process will go into a tight loop constantly restarting attempting to read the files. The loop usually occurs so quickly that it is impossible to actually stop using the Task Manager facilities.
By enabling debugging it is possible to get the "sdcommd6.1" event log messages which give the details of the problem - to enable debugging see a17964 How to enable debugging of the ACE/Server sdcommd process
|Resolution||This behaviour was diagnosed as one of the side effects of deleting the server.cer and server.key files from the <INSTALLDIR>\data folder, simply replacing the two files allows the process to run correctly|
