IssueAM 7.1 - unable to backup database from Operations Console - com.rsa.common.SystemException: java.io.FileNotFoundException: </path/DB_BACKUP-<system name>-date.secrets (Permission Denied)
com.rsa.common.SystemException: java.io.FileNotFoundException:
/backups/DB_Backup-host.na.rsa.net-200909031727.secrets (Permission
denied)
CauseThe directory selected to place the backup, in this instance /backups, is not owned by the user under which AM 7.1 runs and/or does not have write permissions to the directory
ResolutionCheck to see who AM 7.1 is runing under

example:
[root@lunatic sp2]# ps -ef | grep RSA | grep tnslsnr
ammgr    20251     1  0 Aug24 ?        00:00:00 /usr/local/RSASecurity/RSAAuthenticationManager/db/bin/tnslsnr ybymmgij -inherit

in this instance, ammgr is the user.

in /etc/passwd, find the user and see what group it belongs to

[root]# cat /etc/passwd | grep ammgr
ammgr:x:501:501::/home/ammgr:/bin/bash

In this case, the group is 501

See what group 501 is:

[root]# cat /etc/group | grep 501
ammgr:x:501:

Now that you know what user and group, assign ownership to the directory which you want to backup, and insure the owner has rwx rights (default umask for a directory in unix is 744, which should suffice

[root]# chown ammgr:ammgr /backups
[root]# chmod 744 /backups

[root]# ls -ald /backups
drwxr--r--  2 ammgr ammgr 4096 Sep  3 17:32 /backups

Now perform the backup from the console.
