RSA Authentication Manager 7.1 SP4 - Installer

RSA Authentication Manager hostname and IP address configuration.

Verify the hostname and IP address of the machine that you are installing on.
Authentication Manager will use the following fully qualified hostname and IP
address to listen for requests.
CauseThe hostname of the machine has been either configured with a different fqdn then was passed to the installer, or the short name vs FQDN was used when RHEL was installed.

To confirm this, at the command prompt type:

[root@myhost sysconfig]# hostname
myhost.mydomain.com
What returns from this command is what hostname is set in the /etc/sysconfig/network file, i.e.

[root@badboy sysconfig]# cat /etc/sysconfig/network
NETWORKING=yes
HOSTNAME=myhost.mydomain.com
GATEWAY=192.168.130.1

If this name is other than what is passed to the installer, this issue will occur.  The default name on a linux installation for hostname is the FQDN of the server, not the short name.  Furthermore, you cannot use an alias or secondary hostname (alias) for the installation.
ResolutionFirst, be certain that you are not using an alternate (alais) name.  If you have configured RHEL hostname with the shortname vs the FQDN, do the following to rectify the situation:

1. Edit (vi) the /etc/sysconfig/network file, and update the HOSTNAME parameter to reflect the fqdn
2. you can do one of the two to propagate the change

    a) brute force method: reboot

   b) soft method: run the command sysctl to pass the change to the kernel in realtime
            sysctl kernel.hostname=myhost.mydomain.com
3. confirm the change took by typing hostname at the command line again. Once you are certain the fqdn is being used, rerun the installer
