Issue"103: Response to the New PIN Request took too long. Please try again."
Cause

Users reported that while trying to set a new PIN, the following error message would sporadically appear in their browser:

"103: Response to the New PIN Request took too long. Please try again."

Further investigations revealed that the IIS "RSA SecurID pool" configuration was changed to use more then 1 worker process.

This setting can be verified by right clicking on the "RSA SecurID pool" application pool and selecting "Properties" in the IIS Manager. Then look for the value of the "Maximum number of worker processes" parameter in the "Performance" tab.

Resolution

Version 5.3 of the Agent for WEB (IIS) was not qualified to work with more then 1 worker. A new PIN transaction has to complete on the same thread, otherwise it will fail.

Please reconfigure the SecurID application pool to use a maximum of 1 worker.
