IssueSoftware tokens do not work with alpha numeric PINS

This is by design. Software Tokens work only with numeric PINS. Alphanumeric PINS cannot be entered on Software Tokens.

Note: If an Application is embedded with an alpha PIN, Software tokens cannot be used to authenticate users to provide access that Application. It is required to enter a numeric PIN on Software token to generate the passcode, which can be submitted at login prompt in the specific Application.

see primus a54456 where it describes how this is possible in Auth Manager 7.1 only  if you configure the software token to behave like a hardware token

(pin + tokencode, pin is not incorporated into the tokencode)
