Applies ToRSA Product Set: SecurID
RSA Product/Service Type: Authentication Manager
RSA Version/Condition:  3.0 SP2
IssueThe following message displays in the Operations Console during the restoration of the database:

Exception: Invalid password, failed to decrypt system key com.rsa.ims.security.keymanager.sys.InvalidPasswordException: Invalid password, failed to decrypt system key
CauseThe master password is used to encrypt the backup of the RSA SecurID Appliance and in this case the master password used during the build of the appliance did not match the master password used to create the backup when it was created.

ResolutionRSA recommends performing a factory reset of the RSA SecurID Appliance and then Quick Setup using the same master password that was used for the backup. This will allow the restoration of the backup from the RSA Operations Console when the Quick Setup has completed and the appliance is restarted.

WorkaroundRSA SecurID Appliance has had a factory reset in preparation for a restore of a backup.
