IssueWhy am I unable to upgrade the ACE/Server license?
Error: "Cannot rename e:\ace\data\license.rec to e:\ace\data\license.old"
CauseThere was a prior License upgrade done on this server, and there is a file ace/data/license.old already
Administrator is attempting to complete the upgrade from an RDP (terminal session) connection to the ace/server
RSA ACE/Server Services are still running
User attempting to run License upgrade does not have correct rights to the directory
ResolutionRename or move the existing ace/data/license.old file. Then, check your Windows 2000 or 2003 connection type, use the command: query session . The output should look as shown below:

 SESSIONNAME       USERNAME                 ID  STATE   TYPE        DEVICE

If you instead see the > character for your session followed by RDP/TCP or anything else, you will not have the correct rights. Move to the ACE/Server console, to run the license upgrade.

Then, use the Control Panel Icon RSA ACE/Server and click on the Server {STOP} (button), wait for message Server Stopped, click {OK} wait again for the message, 'Broker services have stopped', Click {OK}. Now again run through the License upgrade.

Lastly, ensure you are logged onto the ACE/Server as the file owner when doing the license upgrade.
