Issue

When IPDB Extractor is installed on a VM, it fails to load and you will not be able to view the Meta to define an IPDB rule in the Reporting Engine.

CauseThis issue occurs because the IPDB Extractor is not able to allocate the amount of memory that it requires.
ResolutionThis issue has been permanently resolved in Security Analytics 10.5.0.1.
WorkaroundIn order to resolve the issue, perform the following steps:
  1. In the Security Analytics UI, navigate to Administration -> Services.
  2. Click on the red Actions button for the IPDB Extractor and select View -> Explore.
  3. Change the value of /ipdbextractor/config/pool.packet.pages from 50000 (default) to 30000.
  4. Restart the IPDB Extractor service on the Administration -> Services page by clicking on the red Actions button and selecting Restart..
